Folks often ask if Crunchbase and TechCrunch are still the same company (toptechtrends.com/2015/09/22/aolverizon-completes-spinout-of-crunchbase-funded-by-emergence-capital/”>nope). Many express surprise that AOL was once this publication’s sole parent (toptechtrends.com/2010/09/28/why-we-sold-techcrunch-to-aol-and-where-we-go-from-here/”>yep). So much so that we’re pushing the value of a public company sharply higher by dint of our partnering with it, and taking a sizable stake in its equity at the same time.
