Sequoia is rebranding its international investment arms to better manage the escalating complexities of its decentralized global investment operations, the storied venture firm said Tuesday. Sequoia China is transitioning to the name HongShan, while the company’s India and Southeast Asia unit is rebranding as Peak XV Partners.
Sequoia’s US and European enterprises, however, will maintain their affiliation with the original Sequoia Capital brand. The rebranding comes amid geopolitical tension between the U.S. and China whereas the India vehicle also has run into some optics issue in recent quarters.
Peak XV Partners, which under its previous brand name raised $9.2 billion across 13 funds and invested in over 400 startups in the region, will now look to deploy toptechtrends.com/2022/06/13/sequoia-india-and-southeast-asia-raises-2-8-billion-funds/” target=”_blank” rel=”noopener”>some $2.5 billion it raised last year, the India and SEA unit said.
